Her parents built this home 60 years ago. She lived there for 20 years but recently moved to a retirement community. Much of her life has been spent raising awareness of the condition she inherited – Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (www.ehlersdanlosnetwork.org). She served on the National Board of Directors and Director of Local Groups for the National Ehlers-Danlos Foundation and started the Triad Chapter of its educational and support group.
We’ve been calling this home “The Iris Pineapple Cottage” because of the large collection of iris & pineapple themed items – from lamps to wreaths, linens to paintings and everything in between. You’ll find great vintage furniture including a Waterfall bedroom set made in Winston-Salem by B & D Furniture, Tell City hutch, children’s tables and chairs, toys, Beatles and other ‘60’s albums, Depression glass, a Fender Classical Acoustic guitar & case, a large quantity of bed linens, a porch swing, rolling kitchen island, vintage Rex red wagon, a whole room filled with craft supplies & holiday items. There are china animals, beautiful ceramics by local artists, a collection of Southern Living cookbooks, oil lamps, vintage bottles & jars, a princess phone, garden implements, church window and other intriguing items.
