Property of a Gentlewoman
She lived for 102 years, most in this lovely home. Her husband was the president of a local tobacco leaf company. They raised a son here. She was active in garden clubs, both locally and statewide, loved ikebana, loved to arrange flowers for groups large & small. For his business, they traveled extensively in Asia.
There are so many treasures in this home that we’ve added a third day to the sale. You’ll find classic furniture by Benbow & Huntley; sets of china from England, France, Austria and Japan; silver by Baker-Ellis; sets of glassware and crystal by Fostoria, Imperial and others. We have an entire room filled with gift ware, still in its original packaging from the 1970s to last year. There are vintage toys, games, magazines from the ‘40s until today including Life, House & Garden, Ladies Home Journal and many more. The easily accessible attic is filled with Christmas decorations, some new in the box and some vintage: lights, ornaments, nativities, tins, snow globes & nutcrackers. There are a dozen stemming chairs, tobacco twine crochet pieces and other tobacco memorabilia. You’ll find vintage hats, ties & linens; a vast collection of cookbooks and kitchen ware. There is NC artisan pottery, gardening books, ikebana supplies, baskets, vases and so much more.
Please join us Thursday, Friday & Saturday for this phenomenal sale!
