Her parents owned the mill in Bethania for years. Her father would land his small plane in their front yard. He made repairs to the plane and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. Her mother was very active in the community and had many collections – clowns, Avon bottles, miniatures. She ran a restaurant for a time.
